| I look at multi species sites and there are lots of fishing reports and folks really share info.
When it come to MUSKIE a "catch and release" fish...Reports on all muskie boards are very low in comparison.
All I have to say is "why"? |
|
| |
|
| 1- "Multi species" are easier to catch....
2- Weather "up there" screwed up(?)....
3- Recent lake I.D. controversy has instilled fear + confusion amongst the villagers; in time all turtles come out of their shell....
4- Peer Fear- peeps are afraid to report the fact that they spent a large sum of $$$, time + energy + came off the water empty netted; fear of peer ostracization runs deep w/in us all....
5- Seasonal Drop- Wives have hubbies doing stuff around the house + yard in order to maintain "percieved dominance" w/in the relationship...we comply in order to set them up for later trips etc...also this time of year drives the younger single anglers to potential "spawning grounds"(clubs, socials) in hopes of meeting that special someone who will share their love of the outdoors...only to realize w/in a month or so that they're now broke, angry + would have been better off spending time on this board![:sun:] |

| Jason, I have never seen alot of fishing reports for musky, with one exception. Two years ago on the MH site the minnesota guys had mile long threads going on the reports board only to completey disapear the following year. |
|
| |
|
| Hmmmm, I'll take a shot at this one...
1. All those other fish don't matter?
2. Musky fishing is a little like deer hunting - I wouldn't tell a stranger where I spotted a big buck if I had even a remote opportunity to go back and hunt it myself. I probably worked hard for that info. Also, I respect the buck.
3. This is the big one for me: I would hate to see more lakes pounded like poor little 300 acre Bankson in south western MI. I used to start there at 4am in order to fish the prime spots before the crowds arrived. By 8am, guys/boats were lined up, taking turns hammering the points and other structure. It is very sad to see how pressured that lake has become over the past 15 years.
On the other hand, my new Lake X was from a tip provided by Tom Dietz. So I'm a bit of a hypocrit, I guess.

| Jason the answer to your question is in the post tittled lake X crap. Your responses and the ones that were deleted today give you the answer. As for my opinion on it look under fishing reports tittled lake X dated 2-25-02 I asked YOU specific questions there and and never seemed to get much of an answer from you. This board has alot of great people on it but it also has a few not so great people and its because of those few that I have really started limiting my participation on your board. |

| Yeti,
You asked me What lake ...Lake X is.... I could not say but Slamr did. He took me there and so I cant say because of that. Its up to Slamr to say..not me. Its kinda something you do for your fishing partner so can be invited back in his boat again.
Otherwise I do my level best to answer everything!
Someone else asked me for details on Pewaukee because they were coming up. I told them what they should expect baits and presentations.
I could not tell them anymore, I would if I could. You see I had not been on Pewaukee lake for 8 days. For me thats too long to put you spot on spot with details. Pewaukee patterns change day by day in the spring and what I told them, is all I can tell.. and thats a fact.
I was out there on friday and did not see a fish..Why..because I have been home with my daughter and not out 5 to 6 days a week putting patterns together. I did not put a report up, because I was not in my game and their was really nothing to say.
I hope you understand that I was giving you all the info I could give at the time...same as now on my own lake.[;)] [:)] |

| yeti,
Hey, easy man! I think the folks on this board (all of them, including you) are great people. If one feels an answer to a question was not answered clearly, then perhaps the question needs to be rephrased!
I PERSONALLY pulled the conversation Jason and I had on the Lake X thread, as it gave the incorrect appearance that we disagreed on the concept. We do not, I simply gave the journalistic description of 'report' and he gave his best shot at wheedeling information out of Muskie Anglers, a tough assignment.
MuskieFIRST is a community, so there will always be things to debate, and folks to disagree with. Not a bad thing, in my humble opinion.[] [] [] [] |

| Jason my question was to you as you were the one who posted the fishing report not slamr. He doesn't want to give info to the masses so he didn't post a lake X report and, as far as I could find he never has. I respect his right to keep it to himself. Yes he did try to respond but I asked you whats the point of a fishing report that tells absolutly nothing. I'm not looking for you to give me everything you have. But if you post a report at least say what lake. Mr. Worrall I don't know how my question could have been phrased any clearer. Let me make it clear that I'm not angry just disappionted that a board that has as much potential (as this one does) to do good things gets held back by crap like this. |

|
| Yes you did ask me....but Slamr answered quicker then I... after I saw what he said...I let Slamr do the talking because it was the lake he took me too.
I agree...I wish everyone here would spill their guts on where they fish and what is going on...and mention the real
lake.
Thanks for your concern..I wish more folks were concerned about our fishing reports being vague.
By the way..where do you live and what lake do you fish?

| I live in the chicago suburbs in fact about 2mins away from slamr. I usually fish the fox chain because with wife ,kids and work time is an issue and the chain is close and yes I have shared what little info I could about the chain. Still learning it myself. In fact I parked next to you at mentones about a month ago.
