Posts: 1237 Location: South Portsmouth, KY | I like my Daiwa Luna 300 pretty well for dcg. Also the low gear ratio pete maina reel with the power handle works well also.

Do a search of old threads. This topic has been beaten to death multiple times in the past. With that said, I had a 7000 and didn't like it. Seemed to be having a few mechanical problems and it was like trying to palm a basketball for me all day (I have small hands). I think I have settled on the Induron w/ powerhandle as my DCG reel.

Posts: 1270 | I guess I'm the exception but I don't find Double Cow Girls all that hard to retrieve. I'm not burning them as fast as humanly possible, just normal retrieve speeds. I use whatever 4.7-5.4 reel I happen to have handy and don't find that I tire out any quicker than when using the big reels.

Posts: 670 Location: Otsego, MN | I've used the 7000, the Luna, and the Penn. 7000 was great for a while and then blew up.(new style 7000, sounds like the old ones ruled) Luna, great! Penn, better than the Luna IMO but not much. I think it's a bit quicker if your burning. Would love to try the others, I'm sure they are all great.

Posts: 128 | I think the reel with the most potential might be the Okuma Red Isis once they work out the bugs. When it's working it's awesome......Unfortunately, it hasn't worked for very long. Bought one of the first batch and the spool wasn't centered and the anti-reverse crapped out, sent it back and they fixed the problem. Used it for one day and got a backlash that ended up trashing the crappy brass drive gear..Will send it back again and if everything turns out they should be a high quality reel for big blades, although the main drive should be remanufactured from something a little more solid. One wicked backlash shouldn't kill a reel dead.
