Posts: 114 Location: New London, Wisconsin | I am starting to build up a bigger supply of Bulldawgs and I am looking for a better way of storing them. Right now I am using the Plano boxes but there have to be some better ideas out there from guys that are way more imaginative than I am. Thanks for the help. Labs

| Get the Plano 7915's. Perfect for Mag Dawgs. I have one several of them. One filled with Shallow Mags, one filled with Weighted Mags and one filled with the extra weighted mags. I think they hold like 60 baits or so.... If you shop around you can pick them up for like $35.00. Great boxes for any lures, but work really great for Dawgs. | |||

Posts: 8865 | I use the plano 7915 box. Mag dawgs around the outside, Pounders in the corners, regular dawgs in the center compartments. you can store 18 mag dawgs, 18 regular dawgs, and 4 pounders. If you have more than 40 bulldawgs? tackle storage is the last thing you need to worry about.

Posts: 114 Location: New London, Wisconsin | Thanks guys...7915 might be the ticket but looking for something smaller. Right now the plano boxes I'm using I am able to put in a storage compartment in my boat. Two Lakewoods already taking up space, I may not want to add another larger storage box. May have to stick with the Plano's or thin out the Lakewoods. Too many lures. Most of the lures I use regularly are in the Lakewood pedistal box that I use. Thanks again for the replies. I appreciate it. Doug Edited by Labs 9/18/2008 2:25 PM

Posts: 8865 | Hey Doug, in that case maybe buy the deeper plano box with no dividers (4750??) and just pile them all together. After a while the colors kind of bleed together, but you can put a dozen or so in one box.

Posts: 388 | I make my own storage dividers by gluing PVC pipe togheter. 3" and 4" tubes work well cut to 9" depth works well for most lures. I keep the bulldawgs together and drape the tails in a one of the tubes with no other lures to get in the way. I have a set of tubes in two of my bow storage compartments and I keep a set of tubes on deck for the lures that I am using most of the time. Works great and pretty inexpensive. Posts: 547 Location: Oshkosh | When you hang them in a 5 gallon bucket, do you cut in hook slots to keep them from moving back and forth. I like that idea of the five gallon bucket. Thanks for the good tip. Peter

Thanks for the good tip. Peter you could and it would work nice but i dont because the only hooks that tangle are the bottom ones and haveing hook slots will still let the bottom hook tangle

Posts: 516 | I use the Plano 3620 for the 9" Regular Dawgs. One of those mentioned has the permanent dividers running lengthwise which is about 11" long. I use the 3700 for the Mag Dawgs as they are 14". Both have 4 slots for 4 Dawgs. I don't have any Pounders or such so I can't comment on them.

Location: Right Here | I know I’m a little late on this one, but I thought I’d throw my two cents in. I like the Plano boxes as well (big and little), but I bought a few of the new Flambeu 9001 boxes this summer that work pretty good too. They come with a large open compartment and two divided rows. I use them as “to go” boxes when I fish in other people’s boats. I cut the single divider out of the second row to make one long one. I thought about cutting one of the dividers out of the three compartment row, but haven’t yet. One of the small compartments holds a reel perfectly if you take the handle off and put it in the bottom. It’s made from their zerust polymer too, so it should help keep hooks from rusting. I picked mine up at Cabelas for about $15 each I think. For reference, the long glide bait is a 9 incher and the curly sues are the big model. There is plenty of room in them for several baits. Posts: 135 Location: Irvine, KY | I also am a little late clearly, but I just finished making my own "dawg storage system" I took 7 pieces of 3 inch pvc cut into 14 inch tubes and siliconed them into the botom of a 5 gal bucket then I made notches for the hooks in the tops of the pipes. The 7 pipes go around the outside of the bucket, leaving a large hole in the center. I hang mine tail down because most of my dawgs and all my mags have teasers attached and this keeps them out of the way. Two regular dawgs fit in each tube or one mag per tube. This cost me 8 bucks
