Do lures need to be stored indoors over the winter or is it alright to leave them in the garage?

Garage....make sure that your lures stay in dry! Large cooler with cover on table should be okay! Mine is in basement! But my ice fishing stuff is in garage and no problem for years!

Baits should be stored inside that way you can stare at them when there is blowing snow and summer seems so far away. Keeps depression away.

Ditto on somewhere dry, or you'll be replacing hooks and splitrings come fall.

I'd like to do that muskie man but i'd probably come home to find our cats hanging from the hooks on one of those mag dawgs on the top row!!! You must not have cats.

All lures should be winterized like a boat and motor. First, drain all the water out. detach all hooks and split rings. Be sure to code the hooks with the lures to get them back on the lure as original. Clean and sharpen all the hooks while they are off. I put all split ring into a rock tumbler with pumice to polish the rings smooth. Each lure should then be shrink wrapped and elevated above your heart to keep the internals stabilized. Attach everything back in the spring when you see your first robin. I made the mistake once of not doing this and vowed to never neglect this again. Good luck
