Location: Twin Cities | Hey Guys-
I've got a regular sized shallow manta that the tail snapped off of. Hit the water on a cast and came back without the tail or top piece the screw goes through on the body. I tried contacting RiverRun without success on email and telephone.
Anybody have a spare tail lying around or anything I could glue back on? I just thought of something, guess I could make one out of plexiglass if I had too. Thoughts?
Thanks

Location: Land of the Musky | Lexan would work. You just need to find the right thickness and then remove all pieces out the slot. Trace out the tail as best you can, cut, sand, and slide it back in with a little glue. I think those use a #4 1/4" screw. You will also need to drill a small pilot hole in the tail so it won't crack with the screw going in. I have not done this but looking at mine I can imagine what needs to happen. I have some Acrylic but I do not think you would be happy with the durability. I am happy to send you some though. Acrylic is not as durable as Lexan. A window place may also have some scraps you can get for free or a hobby store.

Rollie has some pre-cut lips taht might work very well for your fix too:

Location: Twin Cities | Thanks James, I've actually got some scrap lexan here at work I might try. Thing is, I don't have a slot anymore....the top half of the lure that created the slot snapped off too, so we'll see what I can make work. I was going to glue the whole thing down with some extremely strong industrial strength super glue we have here. I've got another manta I can take the tail out of to trace etc.
