Thinking about hitting Delavan this weekend (Sat.) has anyone been out on it? I've never been. I heard it's a real good pike lake and would like my brother to catch a few. I want him to begin catching pike before he graduates to the Big Leagues for Musky. Any pointers you could help with would be great i.e. baits for this time of year, colors, location, etc.

Thanks,

last year big man fished it alot and I think he said white spinner baits were good for pike and bass.maybe try an erie derie with a leech tail on it,black or pumkinseed tails have worked great for me with pike and will get a muskie from time to time also.

Thanks for all your information. We actually did pretty well from a Pike standpoint. We boated 4 pike (20, 25, 29 & 32 inchers). No muskies though. It's a nice pike action lake as I saw several other pike caught by other boats. We also had a few fish on that got off, a few follows and a blow up at boatside by a nice pike in the upper 30" range. Thanks again.
