What are guys using for trolling musky lures. I've done quite a bit of flat line trolling but would like to try some boards. Need to know what will work properly for heavier musky lures.

Thx

I prefer the church tackle boards. The reason is they pull baits well, they won't pop off your line and with one clip you can let it slide to your leader. That is the biggest thing. The less time fiddling trying to get the planer board off, in this case, you don't, the less time that fish has to get slack line on you and hake free.
The knock is they can dive. If the board stalls out on your trolling passes(generally the inside board on a turn), put the weight back and when retrieving the board, don't pump and reel, straight retrieve.
