lambeau's net's been busy, as 4 hit the frabill already, I'll let him tell the story.( Correction, now it's 5)

First Six Feet had 2 in the first hour last night, he called while I was plying the blackop roads of Minnesota.

Merckid, lambeau and friends are on the local waters by the Hideout tonight, it's venison on the grill when they return.

I'm on the water tomorrow in the brand spankin' new ride..took most of the evening to get her water ready.

sorry i missed you steve ... stopped by before the trip to Eagle ... keith was able to help me out. we've arrived here and happy to be on the rock ... slow here so-far for all but a long week ahead of us. was out on the big water on my esox magnum and not bad so-far. plenty of wind an it's performing better than i had expected. a few obvious differences to the old ride but all-in-all no problems.

good looking new ride you've got ...

see you when we return.

Great looking rig. Great color scheme Steve!
I like to have one like it.....wait a minute, I do!
You may have to deal with speeding citations because as fast as it looks, it may get speeding tickets while docked!
It looks like I will need to break it in with you soon! We'll see you at the Ho'Dag!
The back corner will be much easier to fish out of than the last time we fished together.

I was on my way to work friday morning cutting through N. Branch and had to pick up my jaw after seeing your rig at the hotel. Nice rig is an understatement!! It looks even tougher in person.
I wish I knew it was you Steve, I would have said hello.

Have fun breaking it in!!

the muskies were pretty cooperative for us up in Oneida/Vilas county.

when i got up on Friday i hopped out on a Rhinelander area lake, and put a couple in the net, a 34" on a Showgirl, a 36" on a BS Willy creeper, and an undersized kicker fish. saw one bigger fish, but it was late and lazy behind the bucktail. also had another fish blow up the creeper but miss.

Saturday morning i met up with Andy (agrimm) and we hit an Eagle River area lake early morning to catch the moonrise/sunrise combo. being the first boat on the lake paid off with a skinny 39" for me and a healthy 46" for him on a pounder; i lost a low 40s that threw a curly sue as well. once the boats showed up, we headed home for an afternoon nap.
i went back out on a small Rhinelander area lake that night with Merckid. once the sun angle got a bit lower i had a chunky 39" demolish a minnowbait at boatside; it went completely airborne when it hit, then finished things off with an alligator roll up the line right into the rod where it managed to break the tip off and destroy the lure. one of the more expensive fish i've ever caught...

Sunday was long and hot, fishing on the LdF reservation with just one fish at dusk that shot into the air behind my top raider but completely missed.
Monday morning i met up with Dave (daved) in Eagle River but only had one disinterested follow on a topwater. i thought the wind would get 'em going but it wasn't the case.

as always, hospitality at the Hideout was second to none, thanks Steve!

Cooperative? I'd say. Nice run lambeau.

Out here they were nuts. I fished 2 matches - Friday and Sunday; fished the better part of the day on each. Friday we put 20 fish in the boat from 27.5-35 inches (16 being 30 and over). Sunday wasn't nearly as lively, but ultimately much more rewarding with 2 fish hitting the bottom of the net. One was a beautiful 45.5" tiger (the pic is on the matchfishing thread so I won't re-post it). Due to equipment SNAFUs, that particular fish had to be fought the last 30' or so using the old 'hand over hand' method - hand lining ain't so tough...

A couple of interesting coincidences w/ that bigger fish were that we were fishing against Bump Board Buddies, I was planer board trolling, over open water, using a rainbow trout pattern J-13 Rapala, and my substitute partner (Larry Davis) - circumstances all the same as when I got my big one last year!

Got the X190 cooking tonight with the change to a Revolution 4 prop. We'll see what she can do with the 175 Pro XS once she's broke in. Got out for an hour and a half tonight, moved 7, one taker, no hook-ups, but tomorrow is another day.

lambeau, our pleasure, see you again soon.

It wasnt Muskie fishing but my wife and I had a blast for a few hours Sunday night on the Ohio River playing with some nice flatheads.
Went through 24 bluegills in 4 hours.

Got out for an hour or so after the afternoon Goose hunt to throw some baits around in the river. Stuck a 40 and lost another that I probably should have landed however I was still basking in the glory of catching the first fish that I wasnt really paying attention. Great move eh? Good to be at school, I think.

Hit LVD on Saturday for a while with my 5 year old son and crank the hooks to fast on a low 30" fish and no good hook up with that one. About a hour later my other son 3 1/2" want to go fish with me. I hooked 2 smaller northerns that he got to reel in and then final I was able to get one of my boys their first muskie. I hooked the fish about 20-30 feet from the boat and saw it was a muskie and asked my son (Mason) if he wanted to reel it in. He did great and I am still hearing about from him. It was a whopping 18" but his biggest fish yet and the first Muskie out of my 2 boys. I am not sure who was more excited him or me. We made some phone calls to uncles and grandpa's with excitement. Then it was back to the bluegill fishing for them.

The rest of the weekend I had 1 other shot at a fish and tanked that one. Topwater bite fish and didn't wait to FEEL the fish plus cranked the hooks up throwing the bait back at the boat instead of keeping it in front of the fish. For the time I got out it wasn't too bad. Good luck fishing.

My fishing time this weekend wasn't quite what I was hoping for but I suppose getting to school a bit early didn't hurt anything. As Lambeau mentioned, I did get to witness one of the most costly fish I've ever seen. Yes it was a costly day for him but either way you look at it, it was definitely a bit humorous. Anyhow, fished Pelican Saturday morning with a buddy and one of his buddies who wasn't so experienced and he ended up screwing up a fish on the eight, had two others that should have gone had the guy running the boat done a better job with boat position, oh well. I can't complain with the opportunities Pelican presented us on a sunny flat calm day. Anyhow, looking forward to hopefully putting a fish in the boat for the Kevin Worrall Memorial tournament this weekend.

Went out in my kayak on the 28th on a local creek and hooked up with a nice fat 35"er not a huge fish but it was the fist one to slime my kayak =-). Then I went to get out at the access area and my leg was asleep and fell in.... twice. Atleast no one was there when I did it.

Went out twice this weekend. Caught some fish, learned a ton. Decent couple of trips out on the water.

Was able to spend some time in MN with my father this weekend - We were able to put three nice fish (42-48") in the boat.
Love when the wind blows on MN waters

Had a slow but productive weekend. Mark and Clay put 2 in the boat that pushed 50, both deep on Pounders. The shallow move we witnessed last week was delayed as the fish seemed to move back to their summer haunts. I should be able to get the pics up here tomorrow.

We fished Saturday-Monday on St Clair. The fishing was OK. We started the trip with a 48, 48, and 50.25. After that it was slow with several smaller fish and a few lost fish at the boat.

fri-monday on various MN lakes produced quite a few bites but not a ton of other follows/action...9 hit the net 38-49", with 4 shaking lose and 2 not finding hooks....
the winds sat-monday were insane with my boat being about the only one on the water ...
could go for a calm day about now!

The wind was definetly bllowing in MN ALL weekend.  Made for some tough fishing.  Saturday evening was the best action we had.  Lost one, caught one, lost a big fish (50ish) at the boat, and 10 minutes later got this 51.25".  Most of the activity was <11' and on blades.  Nothing was happening for us mainlake, then again it was blowing so dang hard fishing it properly was a spray-and-pray at best.
