I'm looking at making some of my own QS rigs for this fall and I'm wondering what everyone uses for 7strand weights, crimp sizes, and clevices. I'm going to avoid using the shrinkwrap because I like the way clevices work better. Luremaking.com seems to have all the material I need so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure what you need the clevises for, but I use 90# 7 strand for the leads on the trebles. I then wrap the 7 strand around 3 or 4 times, then use the crimp (I forget what size crimp I use, but use the correct size for the diameter of 90# 7 strand). I then make a loop on the other end similar to how I attached to the hook. Make up several different lenghts, that way you can use the size that matches up for your sucker. I then attach 2 of the trebles to a split ring, which I have either a snap or small treble attached to go through the yap of the sucker.

Hopefully this makes sense.

I'll try to shoot a pic tomorrow and post it for ya. It's not too complex, but I'm pretty sure the way I described it could use some improvement.

Joel's work. Just set the hook when he tells you.

You could always just use a circle hook;)

Thanks for the video posting. Really liked the idea of running the line through the mouth without attaching a rubberband or any of that stuff.
