Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The Oregon Scientific line of wireless, 640X480 30 frames per second recorders seem to be testing out pretty well for video. We will let you know what the underwater quality is like soon. Audio is very limited, I would guess because of the waterproofing, but one can hear the wearer OK. We'll be using this unit quite a bit over the next month to compliment our Archos and VIO POV units, and will report back on how they hold up. Waterproof and shock proof, 2 Gig SD card, lots of recording time on AA rechargables...looks like a way to break in to the hat cam recording hobby easily and for less than $100 if you look around. We paid $87 for ours. The weight mounted on the hat brim isn't bad. I wouldn't want to wear it all day, but for a couple hours one doesn't notice it much. For under $140, you can get the next generation model that takes a 4 gig SD card. Far as I can tell, the wider angle lens and larger capacity card are the only differences. http://oregonscientific.factoryoutletstore.com/cat/2223/Oregon-Scie... Like Sworrall said, it's not something I'd want to wear all day, but wearing it the last little bit of light in the evening is no problem. I'm usually so concentrated on fishing during that time I personally don't think about it. If I remember correctly, I believe Sworrall said the battery life will last a couple hours, however I'm sure he'll chime in on that.

You can wear the camera on the side of your hat using the supplied band as well. The camera also comes with a rail mount which would allow for you to aim it on one side of the boat or the other if you want.

Posts: 72 | Can you tell me if it also records sound? I was looking at the website and it didn't say either way.

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Yes it does, but the audio is sort of muted a little. I'd bet because of the waterproof housing.
