Looking to buy a Musky Landing Net and looking for your opinions and thoughts on which landing net is best for a smaller boat with limited space. Cost does not matter. Beckman/Frabil/Stowmaster?

I like the stowmasters. One thing to remember is they don't float. One of the guys up with me on LOTW learned that the hard way this past week. I'm going to rig up some sort of float on mine.

I tend to prefer either the Stowmaster or the Frabill. However, for storage convenience, especially for smaller rigs, the Stowmaster would get the nod. Whatever net you end up with, I think all three of them are good.

I have the Frabill Powercatch - one size smaller than th Big Kahuna. I really like it a lot. I have had fish in it up to 48 inches and it handled them well. If you were always into upper 40 and 50 inch fish maybe you would want the Big Kahuna, but it seems like it would be hard to handle if you fish alone.

The hooks don't tangle in the mesh at all, and I don't have a problem splitting fins either. I'm sure the other two are good also, but I know for sure you can't go wrong with Frabill.

Frabill Big Game net with the tangle free knotless mesh. Harmless to the fish and acts as a big livewell in the water. I have a small boat also and this is great for it.

stowmaster, takes up no room and very easy to handle, love mine, wouldn't buy any other net.

Big Kahuna for sure. You want the biggest net possible not only for ease of netting, but for the fish as well.

Go with the Frabill.

Not sure the Big Kahuna would be the best option given the limited space being discussed. I have a smaller rig and use the Frabill powercatch one size smaller than the Kahuna. It's a nice bag but can get in the way at times. Handles fish fine, no issues for me. I love the bag but would consider the stowmaster for space reasons.

itmusky,
Since you stated you have a smaller boat and space is an issue, Stowmaster would be your best choice period. As far as size I have netted muskie to 40+ lbs. with plenty of room to spare.
I have used model TS116Y for the past four seasons and love it.

I used a Stowmaster for the first time this yr and thought it was even better than the Frabil. It's a huge net, that folds down to half it's deployed size and it deploys very easily. The finsaver mesh is also softer than the frabil mesh which seems to open easier.

Grass,
