in a half-hour i'm heading north!
this will actually be my first trip to northern WI this year, planning to hit the Rhinelander area tonight and tomorrow before coming home late Saturday night. the goal is to get something worthy of submitting to the Okuma photo contest...
i've got to be back for our fantasy football draft on Sunday morning so that i can take Aaron Rodgers with the first overall pick...ok, i'm not that much of a homer!

what are your weekend plans for the fishes?
the Alliance tourney is going on in Vilas and the WMT is on the Mani Chain, so i imagine that part of WI will be pretty busy. anybody heading up for those?
what about the big MN waters, or late summer trips to Canada?

fishing the metro with Wader. looks promising. Fish or no fish should be a blast. Well... a fish would be nice.

Where are you fishing in the metro?

Independence and White Bear have both been good lately. Tonka has been hit and miss, but when its been on its been great!

Good luck out there. The nice weather might have plenty of boats on the metro lakes this weekend. Try to get out early!

I took a friend out on Pewaukee this morning. It was a "Chamber of Commerce" kind of day...perfect for pictures.
Global Warming has hit us hard! The water temps were 70 to start the day and up to 73 by this afternoon. Normally I would expect 80's this time of year!
He had never muskie fished before. In the first 5 minutes I was having him practice the concept of baitcasting and doing figure 8's. On the fourth 8 a 3'er came up and knocked the bait out of the water.
A change of shorts were in order!
He caught two nice largemouth bass and saw three muskies!
He was going to Smokies to get his own muskie rod and reel, and putting his "cute" little rods and reels away.

I'm heading out to North Webster Indiana, hoping to capitalize on tomorrow's full moon. In a couple weeks, I'll be fishing the new moon at Mille Lacs for my first time. Good luck and safe travels to all!

I saw Lambeau this afternoon as he was headed down Hwy 82E today! Bet he's pitching lures right now- hope he stick's a pig!

I'm going to be wading in the WI River in the morning (matchfishing against "Threat Level Midnight"and saving gas).

Have fun!
Al

Headed to the local pond with the boys and as the moon began to rise so did my mini-humper, right out of the water, fish was hooked a good 5 seconds and the boys got to watch the greatest show on H20, fish shook the hooks and the oldest replied "that looked like an alligator dad"... so close...
