I wasn't sure where to place this question but does anybody know where to find some tubes to ship some rods? Fed Ex was of little help unfortunately.

PVC pipe would be too heavy. Too much weight because it has to be thick to withstand burying. What do they know what you are using for? Instead use drain pipe. That is used above ground and is much thinner.

I do like the idea about the heavy cardboard tube that comes from carpet cores. Might have a hard time finding ends unless they come with them? Also you may not be able to get the size you need and the size available is to large.

call a few local sporting goods stores that sell rods...often times they have the tubest that the rods came in, in a back room .. free...

I have gone to basspro and cabelas, and just asked the guy at the fishing counter, they were glad to get rid of them.
