Location: Madison Wi. Chain | Kind of depends on what your goal is. If you just want to catch a fish, probably one of the arbs. If you are looking for a bigger fish probably the Minocqua chain. BG |

Location: Green Bay, WI | Lake Nokomis has some nice muskies, you just have to look for them. I'd pick up a lake map and concentrate on the areas that look the most promising--weeds, structure and baitfish. I grew up in Tomahawk and fished it a few times. A friend grew up on the lake, and tells me he has seen some huge fish there...so I think you just need to go find them.

Look at a lake map & try the river area first. You can launch right across the street from Aquatic Arts Bait shop. Looking from the boat ramp, if you go left thats the river area & right takes you to the lake area. There is cabbage about 3/4 mile on your left just before the river turns right heading to the dam. It's not hard to find.. Keep an eye out for deadheads !!!
Topwaters, Bucktails & Suicks all have worked for me in the past.
I have a cabin on Nokomis & just learing that lake myself. Last week I had trouble finding cabbage except for honeymoon bay.. Didn't see one but it looks promising.
Since you have only one day, I would fish Mohawksin for sure.

Location: McFarland | Thanks to those who have already given some ideas. Mohawksin looks like fun too, maybe we'll do a split day or get an extra half day in with my 9 year old. Love using the kids as an excuse to go fishing but would be even better to see him with his first ski!!! Leaving tomorrow afternoon so hopefully will have some pics by Sunday / Monday. Thanks guys

Location: Tomahawk, Wisconsin | The Jersey Flowage is good water and less pressured although the Mastercrafts that are running around out there may mean EARLY morning or Late EVENING. 700 SERIES BUCKTAILS AND ANY OL TOPWATER WILL DO, SHALLOW WATER, START FISHING FROM THE LANDING TO THE SOUTH, THEY COULD BE ANYWHERE ALTHOUGH THE RIVER CHANNEL AND ADJACENT WEEDBEDS ARE GOOD SPOTS, WORTH THE TIME TO CHECK IT OUT. nICE LANDING OFF OF FRONTAGE ROAD WHICH IS OFF OF CTY U. Location: Green Bay, WI | I second the Lake Mohawksin recommendation. Although it's been several years for me, I think that every musky I've ever caught in the area was out of Lake Mohawksin. I basically grew up on the water, but haven't fished it for years--but I understand that there's an active musky club in the area, and the guys there do pretty well out there.

| I too am heading up to the Tomahawk area the last week of August. I am going to be up there with my wife, 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter. I will try to do some muskie fishing with my son for a while but do these lakes also hold good panfish/bass numbers to keep my 6 year old (and my wife and son) busy for a while? Thanks. |

| Mohawskin is a great candidate for family. Kids should be successful with bass and bluegills around all of the railroad bridges and/or areas you'd like to cast for muskies. A pressured body of water, but fun to fish nonetheless. |
