Does anyone fish Delavan in southern WI? I plan on a little mornings fishing for bass and pike and I have never been there before. Can anyone tell me where the boat launch is, what time it opens and any places on the lake to target?

Thanks
Andy

Just fished it tonight. It's full of small pike 20-28 inchs and bass. Tons of crappie in about 25 feet of water and these can be caught on tube jigs as well as 8-10 inch gills. I caught a 20 inch Largemouth around sunset on a buzz bait. Had a huge muskie blow up on the same bait but he didn't take it. Tons of weeds so plan on burning spinner baits or using something weedless. They have been getting a ton of fish on live bait. Good luck!

P.S. $10.25 to launch your boat.

I had a blast at Delavan Friday morning. I lost count of the number of pike that we caught, they might not be monsters but it was great fun! Thanks for the help and I will certainly be back again very soon.

The rehab of Delevan Lake by the DNR is one of the greatest DNR success stories in the last 100 years. I fished it "before". If they ever have to rehab it again, I would expect 100% backing for the project. Great fishing lake now.

Andy, There are some 40"+ Pike in there! Last time I was there in June, I had a mid 20's Pike follow a spinnerbait, with a mid 40's Muskie following the Pike!
