I've been using 12" 174# wire leaders with stay-loc snaps. I have a trip planned to Mille Lacs in a month and it was suggested to upgrade my leaders to 16 inches. What do most of you use when on waters that have big fish opportunities. Any tackle and color suggestions would be helpful to

Your 12" leaders will be just fine for casting. I see no reason to bump up to a 16" other than just someone's personal preference.
