Location: Rhinelander | After a slow start for both of us this year, my soon to be 7 year old son hooked his first. Not a monster, but for us on his first, a dandy.
Fish became pretty active today but after the catch he didn't fish another half hour and we were on the way home to "burn up the phone lines."
Funny part was when the fish got close to the boat (I was standing right next to him on the reel in) I said time for the net and he hands me the rod and does the net job himself.
Hard to see the excitement in his face but he was feeling a slight gill rake.....little blood never hurt anyone. Bandages work fine, but gloves will be in the boat from now on.
