Im looking at st croix rod blanks (my buddy can get a great deal on them) and I'm looking for a bulldawg/ cowgirl rod and from reading other posts I see that you can't really get both purposes from one rod but i'm a college kid on a tight budget, I see a 7' 9" rod xxxh fast action 8-30 oz., Now I'm not a buff on what all this means but it does seems a little too much if you know what I mean... Thoughts? Everyone will help....

If you're not dead set on a St. Croix, check out the Okuma 8'6 XH, it will throw big plastics and XX's no problem. It's even affordable @ about 100$, with a lifetime warranty.
