I'm wanting to throw a couple small bluegills or redear sunfish in a fishtank for the boys and thought I would ask here if anyone knows what the minimum size tank would be to handle two little gills? Thanks

A 20 gallon would be fine so long as the fish are small or few in numbers. The big thing is keeping the water clean. Keep the numbers low and the feeding to a minimum or else you'll be changing water every other day in a small tank. As with anything, the bigger the better so if you have access to a bigger tank the more you can do.

We have 2 bluegill's in a 20 gallon tank and it's the perfect size, they probably wont be able to get to their full size potential but it's fun to watch them grow.

20 long is a great tank. I use that for my feeders. 265 is a better size but that gets expensive. My boy had a 75 and its great for a number of small fish. Good filtration and regular 1/4 tank water changes and your fine.
