Posts: 431 | Can I get some recommendations for guides in the twin cities area? I don't really want to drive more than an hour from Minneapolis. I'm going up to Minneapolis with my girlfriend for a few days at the beginning of August and want to sneak away for a day. Thanks.

Posts: 3157 | Josh Borovsky knows the metro has good has anybody I know he had some fish going on one side of the metro lately,,he also has a very cool option in that if you dont want to guide a full day you can split up int 2-3 evenings on different water depending on the bite and always within prime time evenings. Paul Hartman owner of the Minnesota muskie tournament trail has done many seminars and articles about fishing the metro,,, he might be available 651-269-2144

Posts: 159 Location: NYC (and many weeks in MN during summer) | Good ole Wayne from blaine klemz is as good a guide as there is fishing the metro area and tonka in particular. And of you ask me, when I'm guided, all I want is a shot to catch a 50 to 55" fish. I feel that within the parameters of the metro, he is unequalled. If your unfamiliar with Wayne, just ask around or read around LOL. (763) 755-7337, tell him NY randy sent you. He will fit you in if he can, I promise! Randy

Posts: 734 Location: Watertown, MN | Both are top choices for the metro just talked with Wanye from spain last nite, only thing about that time of year is pending weather metro water get pretty hot, and some will stay off some lakes. I believe temps were pushing 80's in metro waters. Give either a call and you will be very happy with your trip. Just ask wayne about the measurmatic glasses. Troyz Ps be patient if calling wayne he does not have a cell phone, Edited by Troyz. 7/11/2008 6:40 AM

Posts: 697 Location: Minnetonka | Josh and Paul are both class act guides and a couple of great guys! If you check out http://www.skiepatrol.com , you can see up-to-date proof of another guide who knows the metro, especially the current pattern on Lake Minnetonka which is undoubtedly your best lake for a chance at a Metro Giant. John Hoyer has guided several 2 and 3 fish days already in 2008!!! He has some openings and is easily reached at his # on the site. Andy Edited by Hammskie 7/11/2008 9:36 AM
