| This is the first year for fishing musky without touching the bass or walleye gear. I have been out on Tonka at least eight times since opener and only moved a few sub 30 fish on the main basin. I guess my question is what are the best color selection and bait sizes that work for some of you guys. And second I would like to use jerk baits more this year, what styles have the best results.
The local hunters seem a little tight lipped or just a little to general to be of any help.
Thanks

Tonka from I have heard has been a little slow to start, good color are browns, firetiger, you can get by with a hanful of baits,
Motor oil Dawgs
Phantoms, Natural and firetiger
Topwater,
Cowgirls
I would look for the new emerging cabage, otherwise deep milfoil edges. With increased pressure people are keeping tighter lip to keep some patterns to themselves.

| Chaska, we have put just two in the boat this year but have moved some tanks. The first came on the weed edge/break on a pearl/gray bulldawg medium rip retrive, the other on a perch colored phantom this one was on top but near the edge just last night 06/26. My best jerk bait on tonka has been a green and black bobbie bait, this one gets down a bit for working deeper weeds. Tonka has definately started slow but soon the cowgirls will start getting eaten out there regularly. Good luck

| This looks like a GREAT site to be apart of. Thanks Guys.
It seems like I’m on the right track. Just have to keep at em.
I have just enough tackle to fill a pedestal pal sr. and most are promising.
Thanks
