| I highly recommend Dadson custom rods...Scott and Sean Bermingham have been making them custom rods long before it became trendy...two of the nicest guys as well. They have many blanks to choose from. Shoot me a pm if you want their number...Ben | |||

Posts: 203 Location: Minnesota | Keith from Pro Edge does custom rods... He works with Diamondback, St. Croix, and his own Edge Series blanks... Although he had announced recently that hes no longer working with Diamondback blanks (read that posting for the specifics)... I ordered two 8'6 Edge series Rods... and am very HAPPY with them... even with the 1 1/2" thick Syncork handle, the rod felt remarkably LIGHT... Hes able to build Edge series up to 9'6... I havent gone out fishing yet... but I have a good feeling that I'll be ordering one or two 9'0 or longer Edge Series from him next year... I dont know about the St. Croix blank... but I think he has built several 9'0 or longer Diamondbacks...

Posts: 159 Location: NYC (and many weeks in MN during summer) | Big Perc - 6/22/2008 8:31 PM I have a thorne's diamond back rod that is 8'6" and a Pro Edge Big Bait that is also 8'6" and I love them both...I would highly recommend any of those two rods... Big Perc I too have a custom st croix mega swim bait blank built on by keith at pro edge and several thorne brothers custom diamondbacks(4), plus a new TB loomis steel. Both builders do an impeccable job and can satisfy any length necessary to fit the application you need. Keith at pro edge is wonderful to work with, and the time he will spend with you in person or on the phone will be at the very least, very educational. You would need to check with him with regards to how long his waiting list is. As far as diamondback blanks are concerned, they are to be avoided at this point. They are now manufactured in china since last year. I have spoken to several people in the last two months who said the blanks are undependable. Have read quite a bit about them on this site too. Keith has quit building them. One of the diamondbacks i own is the new blank. It is a medium heavy and I lobe the stick, but I have little confidence in it. I have relegated it to light duty, ie; small bucktails, spinnerbaits and light plastic cranks. Randy

Posts: 375 | keith @ pro edge built me two looong st. croix legends on the mega swimbait blanks with the syncork handles this past winter. his craftsmanship is second to none and will take the time to ask you the "right" questions before building your magic musky wand! these rods are incredibly light yet can handle a very wide bait weight range compared to many others out there. one warning though, it will be very difficult for you to pick up any other rod after using them! stan

| the berm boys at dadsons made all my custom sticks. great workmanship, and they really ask the questions needed to build the exact rod you will be happy with... my oldest rod is close to 10 now, and still rock-solid and lookin' great! steve | |||
