What are your favorite ways to attach them? I have had some issues with the hooks coming off with the eye through the rubber band and the piece of plastic placed over the hook. I have never had issues with the free swinging trailers that connot get past the barb of the first hook and I have wrapped wire around the first hook to keep bigger eyed trailer hooks from coming off. Plastic tubing over the eye, i thoink would fail in time although I have not had a problem. Does anybody else have any tips?

Another issue I have had with spinnerbaits is the blade arm breaking off at the line tie. This usually happns when fighting a fish but not always. I end up making bucktails out of what is left. I probably have 6-8 spinnerbaits of various brands do this.

I use single siwash salmon hooks. I don't think that there is a better hooking trailer hook as one of those things. I use shrink wrap just like Bucher did on his Topraiders. The eye on the siwash is generally pretty big, so I use a pliers to get the eye as small as it will go, then slide the main hook through the eye and heat both ends. You have to be carefull not to overshrink it, or it will expose the eye defeating the purpose. If I want to add a plastic trailer to that hook, I will usually run wire around the shaft in a coiling motion to help hold the plastic in place. If you never treid them, do yourself a favor an do it. Once a fish is hooked on one of those hooks, they aren't coming undone.
