how'd the muskies treat you out there this weekend? we lost one trolling while trying to get the planer board unhooked...would have been my 13-yr-old niece's first muskie, so that was fun and disappointing at the same time!

Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Here are a couple images from the Rhinelander outing. First one is K-bob with a 40 incher, a 36 release fish and the last one a 41.5 that I caught on one of Keith Worrall's Violent Strike Spinnerbaits. Posts: 1287 Location: WI | My boat partner boated 2 short ones last night. I lost one around 40 inches boatside on a Rumbler, also had a strike and follow on a Topper Stopper. Fish were moving good. We saw them porposing and they were actually striking when we cast to them!

Posts: 10 | 2 follows saturday morning before 9am, both fish in the 40-43 inch range and not a sighting since, fished hard all weekend, between storms moving in and out, seemed to turn the fish off a bit.

Posts: 619 Location: Verona, WI | Took a float trip on Saturday and managed this 37" on a Mojo XX. While taking a break on shore I waded the river and had a low 40s fish follow twice before I got it to hit on a figure 8 before it came off. Trying to figure 8 a fish in 18 inches of water with you in it is a huge pain! Shane Attachments ---------------- 37.jpg (24KB - 126 downloads)

Posts: 1316 Location: Lebanon,Mo | Hooked a upper 30" off a weed edge, got it to the boat and net in one hand and rod in the other she decided to slam into the side of the boat and swim away before the net ever touched water. Snagged a 7-9lb Carp in the belly while trolling open water with a Grandma, that can be disappointing when you see that surface.

Location: Contrarian Island | one of the craziest things I've seen... Lee Tauchens client, 2nd cast ever for muskies hooks a 35"er about 125 yards from us, another buddy in between us while Lee's client is figthing that fish hooks another mid 30 ski...I set one rod down, grab another with a bucktail, one cast I get a 45"...all 3 of us with ski's in the net at the same time ...talk about a short feeding window...didn't get another hit the rest of the nite.... Posts: 1764 Location: Ogden, Ut | Went out to a little urban (extreme urban) pond w/ California_Muskie on Sunday. I hooked the biggest largemouth that I had ever laid eyes on and lost it about half way to the boat. I'm pretty sure Mark was way more upset about it than I was. We had a great time and I learned a ton about some 'less than usual' techniques for really big bass in places where people don't think they exist. Thanks again Mark. S.

Posts: 30 | Moved a few fish Wed thru Sat. with no takers in N WI. A window opened up Sat afternoon and put a 38 in the boat, and saw 8 in a 2 hour span. 2 were 40+. All were agressive. Another front shut her down for the day. Did not get out Sunday. Edited by Coach Rob 6/23/2008 10:55 PM

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I caught a 35 in the Hayward area Thursday, and this 36 inch tiger on Friday. the 35 was on an 11 inch Curly Sue and the tiger was on a Super D. Came home Sunday and fished in Chippewa County. Put my Dad in front of my boat and he caught a 34, and I missed a "something" that may have been a musky due to not setting the drag right on my new Okuma - DOH! Short feeding windows seem to be the name of the game this year. The fish that I missed hit on my 2nd cast after releasing Dad's fish. curleytail Attachments ---------------- 36 tiger.jpg (180KB - 128 downloads) dad 34.jpg (206KB - 128 downloads)
