Posts: 654 Location: MPLS, MN | Most hazards on the lake are marked. I would still be careful near the Pelican island area. I hit an unmarked rock trolling there once. Charlies Up North is a good bar to hang out at night, has an outdoor boat bar and DJs ect on Fridays and Sat. Zona Rosa has good Mexican food and the Lucky Moose has real good food. Reeds is the spot to get your tackle. These are all in Walker. The Muskies can be anywhere so explore. Walleye a good bet is Mound, Oak and Moore Point. Bass in Steamboat Bay and Shingobee Bay. I have a boat slip there and will be there June 5th - 8th. PM me when it gets closer and I'll give you any updated info if I have any. Good Luck.

| last year I heard bulldawgs did pretty well one the opener. I might point out that the opener isn't until the 7th, so If you are there the first week... As far as fun after the fishing is over, Zona Rosa in Walker has great fajitas, but the best place to eat by far is The Brauhaus - about 10 miles west of Walker on hwy 34, weiner schnitzel, spatzel and great beers... My family love's it. | |||

Posts: 107 Location: Mayer, MN | Just was up there last weekend and there is still Ice on the big parts of the lake. Couple of guys...not me, got trapped and had to be rescued when the Ice shifted. Just a heads up

Posts: 654 Location: MPLS, MN | weedsnager - 5/13/2008 8:52 PM any other areas for good bass fishing? My slip is in the south end of Walker Bay so I normally fish Bass in the spots I listed. I have a buddy who is a big Bass fisherman and he likes to fish the Bear Island/Boy/Heaquarters Bay area.
