I am looking to purchase a reel for throwing big bucktails, primarily double cowgirls. I don't fish muskies a ton. I need a reel that won't break the bank and can handle the baits.

First welcome to the boards. Second, try an Okuma Induron 400. Order one and Mark from Okuma (california_muskie on the boards) will toss in a free power handle to help pull in those big bucktails. There's tons of information throughout the forums about the Indurons feel free to look around using the search function.
