Location: Yahara River Chain | What is a skimmer? Do you mean the transducer? Epoxied to the hull? Or do you mean epoxing it to shoot thru the hull?
If you want to glass in the transducer, then go out and fill the bottom of the boat with water and place the puck back there in the water, moving it around till you get the best reading possible. Then when the boat is dry, epoxy it in that place according to the directions.

Location: lake st clair michigan | the transducer that came with it is called a skimmer transducer.....what is the purpose of filling the hull with water????? i read the directions but was just curious how most of these boats have them mounted do they shoot through the hull well enough? or will it be better to mount it to the transom outside? |

| If you have a skimmer transducer it has to be mounted on the transom. You need a shoot through hull transducer if you want to epoxy it to the bottom to shoot through glass boat. |
