Posts: 929 Location: Rhinelander. | My ranger has gotten a cloudy finish. The sun will do that I know. What have you found to be the best product to help reduce it or clear it up. Thanks in advance. Pfeiff

| Rubbing compound and a buffer. I use extra cut, heavy 3M compound. | |||

Here is where you can purchase his product and read about specific products to match your needs. http://www.larsensales.com/index.html

Posts: 303 Location: WI | Don - I bought some Boat Restorer from 3M at wal-mart...I don't think it's as strong as rubbing compound (don't quote me on that). I've used a rag and rubbed it in real good, then wiped it off, and that worked well. I've also buffed it in and that worked too. It really gets the milky/cloudiness to go bye-bye.

Posts: 315 | well if wet sanding and buffing works anyone out there want to donate their boat for alittle while (maybe an afternoon or so) so i could try out some of the auto products i have to see how it turns out? im sure the clear coat on a boat isnt different from a car so im not worried about anything going wrong. im in minneapolis. -brian-

Posts: 719 | Most Automotive polishing products contain silicon which long term can cause fiberglass to separate, in addition using any abrasive compounds on fiberglass clearcoat can cause damage to the clear finish itself. Better to clean well as most dull finishes are actually hard water stains and wax with a marine wax made for sparkly finishes.
