| Need another reel and was leaning towards the Luna but have heard tons of good stuff about the Curado.... Anyone own both that can call the winner? |

| I have both and they are really not comparable. The gear ratios are different for each reel. If you are looking for a jerkbait and small bucktail reel I would go with the curado. The Luna is more of an all purpose reel and will also handle big blades and bulldawgs etc. If you are looking for something to cover more types of baits go with the luna. |

| You could go to the 200DPV Curado. That will give you a 5:1 gear ratio, instead of a 6.2:1 like the 300DSV. I have both the 200 and 300 size and I think that they are great reels. Until the end of April, there is a $50.00 rebate on the Curado, and the 200 Curado would be about $90.00 cheaper than the Luna, and weighs less too. If the 200 size interests you make sure and look at the Shimano Citica. At $90.00 with the rebate, a VERY good reel and deal.

| Thats an apples to oranges comparison, both are very good reels but very different reels.Check the specs on the two reels and look at your primary uses for the purchase and make your decsion based on that.As long as it suits the application you cant go wrong with either reel. |

| Anyone throw DC-8's with the curado 300. I don't throw the larger stuff, but would like to be able to throw DC-8's on a rod I am having built at the moment. Also what size line are you using on the 300...Is it large enough for 80lb or are you dropping down to 50 or 65? thanks... |

| Ben, you shouldnt have a problem with double 8's on the Curado. Besides the really hard pulling stuff, I wouldnt be scared to throw anything with a Curado that you'd throw with a Luna or similar reel.
You can fit 80, but I use 65 to get a little more line on there
