Location: Beaver County, Pennsylvania | If I'm able to afford no more then a couple pairs of st. croix premier rods and a couple of good ambassadeur reels which two would you recommend for the following type of fishing.
Jerk Baits, Top water, ETC...in the 1-4 oz range......
Large Spinnerbaits, Bucktails, ETC...in the 1-5 oz range
and i'm not sure if i'm ready to dish out the money for a rod/reel combo equipped to handle large 8 oz bull dawgs and DC size inlines. i don;t want to invest in something i'm going to burn up in any of these combos. i'm hoping to get 3-4 seasons out of these rods/reels and would like to add to them, not replace them.
thanks so much guys. i'm new here and hopefully you wouldnt mind repeating some info i know you've all posted before.

Location: Iowa Great Lakes | I would look at the Okuma reels with the MH or H Premires they will handle the Mags with ease. Okuma rods have been well talked about they may also be worth a look and save you a little. |

| I love my 8ft. MH. St croix with a 6000 abu. It handles bucktails of all sizes and crankbaits very well. For jerkbaits and larger baits I use a 7ft. H. with the same reel. I tried a faster reel and it was difficult to maintain after a few hours of casting. If you keep your reels clean and lubed they will last for quite some time. Each off season I back off the drags fully and rebuild what ever is worn. |

Location: Ogden, Ut | If I was going to get 2 combos that would fit 99% of my needs I would buy 2 Okuma Induron 400 reels and 2 Okuma 8'6" Telescoping rods, one in H and one XH. If you look around a bit, you should be able to buy those and put line on them for well under $500.
