Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Having difficulties registering. Put my information in, and then hit submit but nothing. Is it because others are trying to register at the moment?

Posts: 507 | The bitrate of the videos is a little high for your connection. The simple fix is to pause the video and let it buffer a bit then hit play again. Also, I will work on adjusting our player to buffer more up front.

Posts: 507 | When uploading to OutdoorsFIRST or YouTube or some other service, it is best to upload "exported" video already in a square pixel format. If you output raw DV and then upload, you will be doing 2 things: 1. Probably ending up with a rectangular pixel video, somewhat horizontally "squished" looking. 2. Waiting waaaay longer that you have to during the upload process, since .dv is uncompressed. For uploading it is recommended that you export a 640x480 or 480x360 movie (assuming 4:3 aspect ratio, the width is what is relevant) to MPEG-4 (Mac) or WMV (PC's) broadband preset for best quality. The following are some recommended video export options for uploading (the ones I am familiar with): From iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Quicktime Pro iMovie: File > Share > QuickTime > Expert Settings > Movie to MPEG-4 (Broadband-High) Final Cut Pro HD 4.5: File > Export > Using QuickTime Conversion > MPEG-4 (Broadband-High or Broadband Med) Quicktime Pro: File > Export > Movie to MPEG-4 (Broadband-High or Broadband Med)) From Adobe Premiere 2.0 File > Export > Adobe Media Encoder Format: Windows Media Preset: WM9 NTSC 1024k Download or WM9 NTSC 512k Download Export and video both checked

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | You can also embed any video you see on the Upload site into any post on any board if the website is programmed for it. By the way, the clip underwater at dark was recorded to an Archos 504 from an Aqua Vu Scout, and the above ice clip on a DXG $90 digital camcorder;not at all a bad camera, and it takes 5 MP stills and records on up to a 2 Gig SD, allowing for about 2 hours of uninterrupted video. I see Samsung has a new digital recorder out with a wired hat camera for $380.00. One can now get a 404 Archos and a camera for about a C spot less than that. It's really easy to get good video of your trip now, and pretty inexpensive, too. Check your current camcorder for video in, if that's there it may accept a lipstic camera and definitely will record from any Aqua Vu. Example, a little ice clip from last night:
