Posts: 5 | I intent on buying a used glass tiller boat this spring.This one is one my short list. I haven't seen one in a couple of years so my memory is a bit vague.The problem is all I can find listed are 8-12 hours from home.I'd like to see one closer to home to help me make a decision.I'd like to have a deal made,pending condition,before I spend two days in the truck and save travel expensives.I'm particularly Im looking for a capped version up to 2004.The older Renegade would be great too.I'm located in northern Illinois.A four hour drive would be OK. Thanks for helping!

| Which model, 1700, 1760, 1890, 1990 or 2060? Newer or older than 2004? | |||

Posts: 5 | I'm sorry! That would be a 1760,2004 or older.MudDuck,I have contacted that seller and the boat was sold last summer.I saw it much earlier but the 60hp was not enough motor for my needs.I have contacted Tuffy but they were unable to help but are keeping an eye open.

| 60hp was the mx. that you could put on that boat. How are you going to get one with a higher hp rating? You'd have to go with the console model. | |||

Posts: 32957 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The 1760 takes a 75 HP tiller.

Posts: 385 | The 1700 deepV has a 60Hp rating on the tiller. Unless that has changed. That is the boat he looked at and said was underpowered.

Posts: 190 | I have done a ton of research and have look everywhere. I did come accross the boat below. http://www.boats.com/sites/mjmarine/boat?entityid=106844591&mid=246... However it is a console. I switched my search and I'm buying aluminium. I couldn't find the tuffy I wanted, and the handful of rangers (681) I found were going well above nada. Happy hunting.

Posts: 32957 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Matt, he didn't say it was 'underpowered' he said he wanted more motor 'for his use' and then said 'I'm sorry! That would be a 1760,2004 or older'. A 1760 takes a 75. Hard to find older model used 1760 models in tillers; Tuffy has sold a bunch but folks seem to hold on to 'em.

| What was the hp rating on the Renegade mag? I liked the layout on those. I know they're discontinued, but sounds like it would fit what you were looking for in a tiller. | |||

| Or was it called the Rampage? | |||

Posts: 32957 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The boat was originally called a Renegade, then was switched over to the Esox Deep V. same design on the interior with a couple minor changes in the newer models. In late '05 early 06 the entire Deep V line was finished changing over to the current design.
