the 2008 edition of the Muskie School put on by the Capital City chapter of Muskies Inc is hidstory, and was a tremendous success. There was great lineup of experienced speakers for both the plenary and breakout sessions, covering a wide-range of topics that are sure to appeal to both the long time and novice muskie fisherperson alike! Lots of door prizes and raffles to go around for everyone too, and the school's proceeds go to help stocking and conservation efforts. Thanks to everyone who attended, instructed, or assisted!

Location: Sun Prairie, WI | I will certainly second what Steve said. I had a great time and learned a lot. Well worth the time talking with people who really know this sport. Thanks also to you and Sue for making the long trip to join us for a day and participate.

Posts: 1245 Location: Madtown, WI | I too had a great time! I haven't been able to participate for a couple years but this year I could so sat on the Madison chain panel with BN and two other club members. All that talking of fishing got the firing burning again! Kids had a great time too...as my son won the grand prize Muskies Inc fig rig and a calcutta 400!! A great way to spend a winter day and pick up some tips! cory Cory

great classes and muskie conversation again this year. there were 110 people registered, plus the faculty, so plenty of energy on a cold March day. and Cory's "accurate" casting in the pool was one of the highlights of the day...

Posts: 2691 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | The buzz around the school was very positive and well worth the time us fellow Muskie Inc members donated our time to help teach others some of the insite we have on the local waters and other waters we fish. I will again be happy to donate my time next year for this very good cause. The food and prizes were outstanding. Something for everyone to learn from at this school. Check out the classes and teachers who shared the info. Very nice bunch of great sticks with very open and sharing classes. Even after the classes I noticed all kinds of extra knowledge being shared all afternoon. All in all a great school for everyone to learn some of the "hot spots" and great patterns on local waters. Also some very good classes on the "Big Fish" waters of Green Bay, The V, The Pond and others. If you have overlooked this school I would check it out in detail before next year. I am sure any one of the teachers or CCMI members would be happy to talk about the line up of classes. See ya next year!!!

Posts: 255 Location: MadCity Wisconsin | This message from Geoff Crandall "Dean of the Muskie School" and the organizing commitee..... " Many, many thanks to everyone who helped (and there were many, many people who worked hard on this and were very generous in sharing information and help fellow muskie anglers) make this a fun and worthwhile day. It was great talking with everyone and thinking about the opener and what to do this coming season. Steve Worrall had a fantastic opening session on the sights & sounds of the latest muskie lures. It was interesting and as a result -- I know what lures I need to get my hands on this summer. The students appeared to be quite pleased with this year's school. We did have a few glitches, yet we carried on as best we could. The evaluations indicated that 99.9% of the students rated the instructors knowledge of this subject matter as either "very good" (the highest possible level) or "good" (the second highest level) - with 85% giving it "very good". The "overall quality of the school" was also given 99.9% score when combining the two highest grades possible- with 74% rating it as "very good". From all indications - people had a good time. I went home set the clocks ahead an hour - now I'm thinking that spring just can't be too far away! Thanks again to all who helped put this school together!"
