Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | This has been covered numerous times. I dug up a few old threads that should help. I just typed in boat batteries or just batteries in the search feature. Tons of info about batteries. http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=34... http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=32... http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=35... Posts: 5874 | Just found out that Pamps's in Green Bay is private labeling Remy Batterys. Now I can drive 1/2 hour instead of 1 1/2 hours to get a great battery, at a great price.

| As a dealer, I have been around a lot of brands and types of batteries. There are many good ones on the market. From all the ones that we handled and from all the praises and complaints we listened to. We believe the best for the money would be trojan agm. agm stands for absorbed glass mat. these are vibration and shock resistent, never need water added, and will recharge and outlast comventional batteries hands down. one drawback would be the price compared to standard lead acid types. for a group 27 agm they sell for around $200.00 | |||

| if you have the money, I 2nd the Trojans...if you want a decent starter battery I have heard good things about the ones you can buy at walmart ...again it depends on your budget etc but for trolling motor batteries you can't find a better battery than the trojans for ease of maintenance and life...imo. | |||

Posts: 39 Location: Cedar, MN | I have a 620 with a maxxum 101 and 3 interstates last year in 2 footers they were dying in 5 to 8 hrs. Had them load tested , 1 was bad, had it replaced and still had problems. That was on 2nd year running them. Now what? If they tested fine could they still need to be replaced? Brad

Posts: 676 Location: Wisconsin | Cabelas AGM batteries.....they have good specs on each series. Did quite a bit of research on them and even had Cabelas send me tech sheets on the batteries. I think they are made by Trojan but not sure. best battery for the money!

Posts: 676 Location: Wisconsin | I don't have my spec sheet from Cabelas any more, but their AGM 27 series had a longer AH than the Trojan for less price. Plus the Cabelas had a much high crank amps which was a concern turning a big engine over in January. Trojan makes a good battery don't get me wrong.....but I had some issues with batteries that the dealer put in my boat. Wary.
