| Has anyone tried these things. I believe they are around $20. I think I would worry that too much of the hook would be filed off with this thing. Any info would be great. Thanks! |

| They work all right, but a good file can do just as well, pretty much. Or you can get a cordless dremel for a few more bucks, and it has more uses than just sharpening hooks. That's what I use, and it makes quick work of sharpening hooks in a fraction of the time. |

Location: Land of the Musky | I have one and I think it kind of sucks. Really like my double cross cut flat file. You can get a good razor sharp point with nice cutting surfaces you can't get any other way. Not that you don't already know this but you need to keep your big hooks much sharper than the little ones. Easy to set a 3/0 but not a dull 7/0. The biggest fish you will ever catch (or lose) is your next one Make sure you have sharp hooks. |
