Location: London, England | Sounds like there's a lot of money being dropped on reels without levelwinds based on a couple of people claiming to use them with no difficulty. I predict a lot of nearly new reels for sale by the end of July.... |

Location: Verona, WI | And that's exactly why I won't buy a Trinidad without using a lower priced alternative first. I would feel worse about buying a $400 reel that I am not happy with than buying a $150 reel that I am not happy with.

Location: Wausau | I contacted the rep at Diawa about the Saltist and he said you have to use your thumb to guide the line on - does this sound correct? Can someone explain how?
Also - any line recommendations would be helpful as well - I started a thread about round line... |

| Hey Shane,
When you have the Saltist in free spool, will cranking the handle ingage it or do you have to flip the lever back to ingage the spool?

You have to flip the lever to engage the spool. That will take some getting used to.

Location: Kronenwetter, WI | The shimano rep said he uses the Trinidad and, yes, guides the line with his thumb....pressing the line left to right with bottom right side of thumb, then 'reaching' with thumb (left side of nail) to guide it back from right to left again. |
