Posts: 1916 Location: Greenfield, WI | We had a great/terrible weekend! We were on Crescent Lake in Oneida County. Darrel Mack (DH Buc) boated a 35", we saw 16 legals up to 45" without getting another strike! We had two miss surface baits completely, and caught some small northerns. While I was retrieving a surface bait my rod tip was barely bouncing in the water, the bait was 30' away, a small legal muskie blasts up to investigate the bouncing rod tip and blasts away! What do you call that? I think that could be a magazine article in there somewhere! LOL! We had every direction of wind except east, and from calm to white caps and back again. We had had drizzle, blue bird skies, monsoons, hail, and a "beautiful October day" today. I didn't have much hair before but after this weekend, what I had left has all been pulled out! Small baits, big baits, slow baits, fast baits, hair, cranks, surface baits, we tried everything but dynamite! It was a great time with a great friend. I hope that we have the same batch of muskies come back hungry for the Ho-Dag Muskie Tourney in September, We will be on the Champion's Platform! Edited by Steve Van Lieshout 6/29/2008 8:01 PM

Posts: 223 Location: Minn. | My brother and I boated two. Darrell's was a rare 49" and mine was a 40". our weather was also crazy. Inbetween the rain and high winds we had to sit out the storms at the landing. One of our chapter members also boated a 33" just before 45MPH winds forced us off the lake for awhile. Ramond

Posts: 1287 Location: WI | I had a small one strike a Topper Stopper and then follow it halfway back to the boat. Also had a really big bass on a bucktail until it threw it. Best 5 hours of my week unfortunatly...ha!

Posts: 337 Location: Central WI | Got two in the "boat" friday night fishing the WI river with 12gauge. 37" in the picture and a smaller fish around 33". We missed several others on topwater. I also had the pleasure of netting a 29.5" walleye that 12gauge pulled in....beautiful fish. Posts: 507 | Sue and I arrived on the Goon Sunday evening for our 4th of July week vacation; a tradition with us since we met. We got out last night for a couple hours, and Sue lost a mid 40" class muskie and caught a couple signature goon Pike at 31". I blanked, but will try to fix that today. Water temps in the mid 60's and the level is quite high, weeds growth is good but all under the surface in the couple spots we tested late yesterday. Llungen Nutbuster has been the hot bait for a couple guys I spoke to who've been here for a few days. I have a couple of those...
