Uhhh, kid08, posting information here is totally up to each individual and usually done in a spirit of sharing, so demanding proof might get you zero help. Look at other posts here asking for information and take some notes.....

Show up the Twin cities banquet this Friday, and will gladly mark your map up. Or come to the poolside demo, if you want proof look at the stocking history on WBL, or hartmans results from metro, or muskie inc log. Great lake lot of member fish the lake and are always willing to give a helping hand.

Yup, use the search function, and do what Troyz said if you can. That's a heck of an offer Troyz, as usual, sir!

I've been fishing the lake for more than 10 yrs and I've yet to find any "special" spots or distinct patterns. Good spots are pretty obvious to anybody who looks at a map (points, bars, edges, etc), then explore to find the secondary locations and the spots-on-the-spot, which seem to change a little every year. The locations I caught fish on this year were different than the spots I cought fish on last year. Fish are everywhere and you need to try a lot of different things at different times. General thoughts: My best producers would be perch pattern cranks (9" grandma, Depthraider, etc.), big purple bucktails, and a black topraider. Lots of guys have success with bulldawgs (Walleye), but I've had only marginal success, so far. In the early season fish can be fairly active along the weedlines and 10-15 follows per day are not uncommon but getting one to eat can be a challenge. A 6" baby Depthraider in perch patter will definitely get some attention, and generally a lot of pike too. I've not done well in mid-summer, likely because the dominate patterns are suspended fish over open water or night patterns (neither of which I do a lot). Sept-Oct-Nov can be good, but fish can be anywhere - 1-2' on the sand, over/along the rock barss, along the deep weed edges, suspended over the abyss, etc. Around turnover time fish can be unbelievable shallow one day, and then quite deep the next. One last comment, the weed edge is very deep (16-18') and sometimes the fish can be just off that in 20-25', but riding high in the water column, so a lot of guys end up fishing either too shallow, or out deep but with baits that run too deep.

I'd be curious about how my general experiences compare with others who fish this lake.

I have fished it in the past and always have found the lake to have a lot of followers. I usually have fished it in the fall and on the deep weedlines and open water. Bulldawgs were the top producers for me, all white, and all red. Very clear lake, I think the clouds would help and obviously night fishing. Lots of fish in the lake though and fun to fish when after the pleasure boaters die off in the fall.

Caught a few this last summer from mid July to labor day or so. Two on a white pounder, two on a black cowgirl, a few on crankbaits trolling the weededges, and one trolling open water late in fall. We found the fish were generally feeding in 4 to 8 feet of water, but caught a few out over deeper water where weeds were not present. They can really move around from day to day, week to week. The best tactic I've used to find them is to fish a large area with multiple structural elements, and break it down piece by piece. First the shallows, then the deep weedline, the open water, etc. This shouldn't take too long to locate a fish, then look on the map for more areas like the one you just moved the fish from. If this pattern doesn't really work out, try a little variance on each spot. One spot try focusing out a cast from the weedline, then move in and do your normal thing. The next spot try sweeping the deep weedline with a bulldawg. Very slow and methodical. If you don't move a fish, move on to the next spot and try burning some bucktails all around it. See if it's speed that they desire. After you've hit a good handful of spots similar to where you moved your first fish, you should be able to make out some sort of pattern. Sometimes patterns are vague, but sometimes they are very exact. When you find an exact pattern, you don't have to move around much, as multiple fish are common from one area. I had a couple of those days out there last year, and they were a blast. Just wish I had more time on the water.
