| I have a few Believers that I have never really used. In Muskies on the Shield, Dick Pearson considers them one of the cresent wrench tools of musky fishing. I'm thinking that I need to start using Believers more often.
Do you use Believers? Are Believers one of your go to lures? What's your secret? How do you fish Believers?

Location: WI | I troll them along breaklines in the fall on the shallow setting. I caught 3 fish on the 10 inch model, 36, 40, and 50 inches. I'm going to try casting them more this summer, and also try using them as slow surface lures.

Location: ne53 | The believer is one of my "go to" trolling lures, and I find myself casting it alot also. I like the jointed but they say the straight model has a much wider wobble. The numbers these baits have produced over the years speak for themselves. It's not a real expensive lure either so do yourself a favor and add a few to your arsenal. |

Location: Illinois | I use the small squirrely believer casting with a pull/pause technique similar to a suick, besides methods previously mentioned. It is a versatile lure for sure that gets it's share of time on my line. |

Location: Racine, Wi | They rock as wash baits trolling as well. They do some amazing things in the wash, but you definitely have to watch your down rod placement so they don't kick out into the down rods. I don't cast them much, but they see alot of water time trolling. |

| This has worked for me, if you're fishing a 10 - 12 foot break, attach a 10" jointed on the shallow eye, let out 50' of line, and troll 3.5 - 4 mph.

Location: Grand Rapids MN | I've mostly trolled them and like Tuffy said they can go nuts on you once in a while but they seem to catch fish. I've played with them some casting and found they are nice for fishing slow over weeds and allowing the lure to just go into them some, then pause and it backs out without getting hung and keeping doing that. I also have the larger super believer and it has great action and the tail reel whips around but it seems to loose some action on the deeper eye. Might just need some tuning but they are great baits. I need to throw them more myself. |

I cast them a fair amount and was a strong believer in the straight, but after my bro had 25+ follows and a 38.5" in one day it changed me a bit. My favorite is in the weeds, reel in till you feel weeds stop and it will back out, keep doing this. You can go through some really thick weeds and the strikes are just awesome, they are out to kill the lure!! |

Location: Grand Rapids MN | Ya I can't take credit for the weed trick. Really worked for you on that slow day for moving fish and I've used that tactic a couple of times since. So many hooks yet no weeds! Trolling, oh ya. Maybe I just like watching the line take off left and right after it bounces off bottom and the rod just goes nuts.

Location: Land of the Musky | I troll with them and beat them into the rocks and sand. IMO no other lure lip can take the punishment. I have ground down a lot of them and they still keep fishing. Nice to have the two conection points too. Very good lures! |

| Just to share a thought or two on Believers, even though I am a still inexperienced amateur. These lures seem to be a good bait for the buck. They're affordable and seem to produce.
I use the 7" and 8", jointed and straight. The 7" is better for casting because it only has two treble hooks and doesn't foul as often on the cast as the 8".
For dark water, I like the fire perch and firetiger patterns. For clearer water, I like the natural perch and nine dollar bass finishes. (I haven't tried black sucker.) The largest muskie I've had on my line ate the fire perch in dark water on a weed line.
Of course the straight model runs deeper than the jointed.
I've taken muskie, pike, walleye and bass on the Believer. |

Location: Appleton,WI | When I troll I always have at least one believer out everytime!The produce and as others said have a nice side to side actionand even do things in the prowash you couldnt get a bait to do.I also would recommend a jerk bait out well trolling very underrated. |
