Posts: 3511 Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Sabaskong bay lodge. Decent prices, and wonderful family staff. 5 miles from Morson by boat. Wife and I have been going there for the last 5 years or so and will continue to. Steve

Posts: 484 Location: St. Louis, MO., Marco Is., FL, Nestor Falls, ON | The best family camp I know of on Sabaskong is Canadian Haven Resort in Nestor Falls, ON. They are really set up for kids and have kids of their own. Lots of stuff for kids to do. Plus great rental boats and really nice people. http://canadianhaven.com

Posts: 2024 | For a resort located more in the heart of Sabaskong: http://www.buenavistaresort.com. VERY cost effective, located on the mainland so if you need supplies (i.e. beer) it's just a short drive up the road to a little grocery store, large docks with nice slips (just remember bumpers anywhere you go). Really can't go wrong with any of them. Sab Bay Lodge is BEAUTIFUL from both the outside and inside (stopped there once to have lunch with a couple guys) and is in the middle of some of the best muskie water in Sab Bay (at least some of MY favorite spots... lol).

Posts: 24 Location: coon rapids mn | check out www.myliesplace.com there rates are very competitive and a familly run drive to resort .also play area for kids modern cabins that have all been updated and most or all have window air conditioning they also have a nice floating dock system and electrical hookups and built in dock bumpers for extra protection for your boat and is in a bay off the main lake . not far from morson so a store is close but have most things you might need right at the resort store.the resort location is centrally located in the middle of sabakong for those that like to explore different parts of the lake .been staying there since about 1993 and there rates have always been competitive randy beaulieu

| I would have to concur with the assessment of Mylies Place. We have frequented Mylies Place for over 25 years and have always been treated well. Their rates are as competitive as anywhere on the lake, particularly now with the poor US$ exchange rate. The location is fantastic no matter what species you are targeting. Those staying further down in Nestor Falls often travel a significant distance, particularly for walleye and trophy muskie. I'm not really familiar with the resorts closer to Nestor Falls, but often see their guide boats in the Morson area. Mylies is family owned and operated and has very knowledgeable personnel that can help target whatever species you are after. If its muskies, however, they are in prime territory with easy access to several different parts of the lake depending on wind, weather and time of year. Good luck with whatever you decide. It's a great place to vacation! | |||

Posts: 336 Location: Lino Lakes, MN | I'll have to agree with Bob on this one. Canadian Haven Resort is a great place to stay and is right in the middle of some prime fishing. There are some great spots within sight of the docks and you are only a short boat ride from being in Sabaskong Bay. If you are renting a boat, they have 18' Lunds rigged with bow mounts and electronics(front and back) which makes for a much more enjoyable week of fishing. The owners have children so if you have kids they will definitely have someone to run around and play with. They also had a game room which some of the kids in camp were using quite a bit...satellite TV, pool table, dart board, etc. The resort is just down the block from the grocery store, tackle shop, and a few restaurants/taverns so you won't have to go far to pick anything up. If you do stay in Nestor Falls, you HAVE to stop at Greens for a burger!!! Brian and Kathy went above and beyond for us and we will definitely be going back. LOTW is an amazing lake and you are sure to have a great time and some great fishing no matter where you stay. Edited by esoxlazer 1/25/2008 2:33 AM

| not exaclty Sabaskong, but only a few minutes from there. Young's Wilderness camp on Stevens Bay. Smaller water to the East of Sab. Resort on small island. Great food, clean cabins and hard working staff. Not so much the destination for kids being on an island, but for musky hunters it's perfect. Their rental boats if you need one are serviceable. They have electric start 40hp, bow mount trolling motors and electronics. They are fine for calmer water, but if the wind is blowing, you are a cork. | |||
