Whatever you go with make sure you inquire about where you can store it and whether or not it will cover everything you store in it. Many standard policies don't have enough coverage for all our electronics, rods, baits, etc. that are in our boats. My policy has a rider for all that stuff.

Make sure you get the correct breakdown on the boat motor trailer values....each will be insured seperately.

$226.00 per year for a 16' v-hull aluminum Smokercraft, 75 HP 4 stoke, 4.5 hp kicker and trailer, etc. $300,000 in liability. Insurance is through Old United's Angler's Advantage program.

The policy covers me on the Great Lakes and Canada. It is an "agreed value" policy so that you don't get shocked when it comes to getting paid on a claim. The policy covers me even in a tournament. It also covers personal effects up to $2,000 for me and a fishing partner. It also covers Emergency Service and Towing. If there is a better policy out there for the fishermen, I have not found it. Check your policy against this one, If yours is better, let us know, and I'll be the first one to switch.

Angler's Advantage: 800-866-6090 or check out their web site.....

Brandyn, I use FCIS, Farm and City Insurance. Highly suggest using a company that caters to fisherman, boaters like FCIS does. Almost found out the hard way that my homeowners insurance I used to use didn't cover your rig for tournaments, great lakes and a few other specific situations.

Coverage for my Ranger 620
Tournaments
Great Lakes Coverage
10k for effects (gear, electronics, equipment)
Runs me around $350 a year
