| Here is a question from an amateur--I emphasize that. I have an 8" Jake with a holoform finnish. The holo is peeling off on one side. I attempted to secure it with Gorilla Glue. It failed. What do I use to glue the holo back on? Do I have to bind it while the glue is hardening? If so, with what? |

| I'd apply some super glue to the back side and make sure it sticks to the bait nice and flat first. Then hit the entire bait with a coat of Devcon 2-ton Epoxy. Problem solved |

Location: Black Creek, WI | I give my Holo Jakes a coat of envirotex to keep the tape on. Works great. |

Location: north central wisconsin | will envirotex work to re-glue though? I have a couple of my good grannies with holo tape coming off from the top. Been cutting it away but it continues. Looking for the 'perfect' fix as well. |

| RH,
Envirotex wont work very well to reglue the holo to the bait...but if you either trim the loose edges or glue then down nice and flat with super glue and then apply a coat of E-tex over the entire bait it will keep the holo in good shape for a long time |

Location: north central wisconsin | Thanks much. Was always gonna ask Steve Warner what he uses, but that might just be it. His holo seems to really stay intact, and has some sort of coating over it. |

Location: Muskegon Michigan | That new hawg seeker glue will restick it instantly. I agree with several others, coat the entire lure when its new with a clear epoxy coating like Envirotec or New lustre 55 . This will protect the tape job. another thing that I did when I was fishing plastic was to t-bone the belly hooks to keep them from tearing those circular cuts into the sides. This will also add years to the life of the lure. Good luck, Kingfisher |
