I just bought some flouro to make some leaders and have a couple of questions. How many tie directly to braid instead of using a swivel? I saw an episode on the next bite and they were tying directly to the braid. I plan on using it to throw mainly shad raps, and other crankbaits, no trolling, all casting. Do I really need to add that swivel? Thanks.

Not unless the bait you are using rolls over. Its a must for spinners (in-line and hairpin), but some cranks that run true you may be able to skip the swivel. You will know when the bait rolls over as you will see twisting at the end of the line.

Here my question to you. What do you plan on connecting the floro to the bait? If you are using a snap, why not a snap/swivel and if you are using a split ring on the bait, use a swivel to between the floro and split ring.

I'm using stay-lok snaps for connecting to my cranks.
