| Well, we all learn from our mistakes, so if you could change one thing from the past that you have learned over the years, what would it be?
For me it would be to net fish tail first. I have had no trouble with netting them tail first compared to head first and having the hooks catch the rim of the net. |

| Yea, but they swim out...Billy!!!!!!!!!
Remember we had that goodin of mine swim right out and latter after I softly!!! explained to you to net her head first. That nice 48.5 went right in. See head first works best, you just have to drive deep and fast.
You and I will forever argue on this subject..LOL
If I could change one thing..... It would be never leaving Minnesota. LOL[] |

| If I could change one thing....hmmmm. Nope. Nothing. Nothing at all. Muskies have been really good to me over the years. Every mistake I have made has been a learning experience, just like the times I messed up a booner or P and Y by doing something I GUARANTEE I will not do again.
Maybe I would have worn sunglasses and sunscreen more....Sun is tough on us fair haired folks.[:sun:] |

| I would have kept a lot more pressure on the big one that shook off and got away. My biggest one hooked up with to date of course. |

| Are we talking just fishing? Either way where would I start.
Two things I learned from last weekend. My sucker rods now have 3ft. leaders on them. My new tube spinner which debuted last weekend has two hooks instead of one. I moved the big trble to the start of the tenacles and have a stinger treble at the end of them.
Mann's makes a 6" tube which is 3/4" wide with thick tenacles that pulsate like I have never seen one do. It's musky sized in itself. |

| And my personal life, geez, where do I start. |
| |
| I would have switched from mono to superline a loooooong time ago.

| I would just hold on to the fish I catch a bit tighter....Ben |

| I would've checked and saw that the Coast lock snap on the Herbie rig I bought 4 years ago was no good(Berkelys fault not Herbies), and I would not have lost a fish I still believe to be in the 40lb range(straightened the snap completely, only after showing herself inhaling the 20"sucker). I would have also(the same year) put a free swinging hook(as I do on all of them now) on the front of my Magnum Bootail, as the only 50+"er I've ever hooked on the river here got leverage and escaped!
Otherwise, I would only change my underpants a little more often on long weekend trips.[] |
| |
| I would have changed that size 6 cross-lok snap after it seemed to open too easy when changing lures. Cost me a jerkbait (luckily not a fish as well) when I cast it out because the snap broke, of course a slowsinking one[]
Also one thing I say after every trip: I'll never take that many lures with me again, I know I only use 5-10 of them anyway! Planning a trip now, got my double-sided plano box filled up again!! |

| Take the Big One's on the first pass with the net when they are green, before they start the dives and thrashing.More Big One's are lost after not taking that first netting possability. Besides much easier on the fish to take them after a short fight, then to ware them down to extra stress.

| I would have learned "lake selection" earlier.....the days I spent on GIN-CLEAR water in early spring and summer, kills me to think that I was waisting that time on the shallows, coulda been chasing the pigs over open water, or just on an easier lake to fish. And I never would have bought the POS motor I run now, a new boat would have been so much smarter!!!
AND, going back only every few weeks this season: I WOULD KEEP MY BIG FAT FINGERS/HANDS OUT OF BORO'S FISH!!!

| FLASHBACK FRIDAY![] |

| I can only echo what larry Jones said- Take the Big ones at the first good opprtunity-Excellent advice- Other than that as you go through life talk 20% of the time and listen for the other 80% |

| Would have started musky fishing at a MUCH younger age....would have moved up "there" at a MUCH younger age...would have found a job in the fishing/hunting field instead of becoming a ROBOTO...would have partied less...would change a lot of things but can only change those things that I want to now in the present...oh well![:sun:] |
| |
| I would have never wasted my time on bait. |
| |
| I would have made more 10" Shad Divers for the MN show this past March!! |
| |
| If I knew then what I know now..... I wouldn't appreciate what I have today and will accomplish tomorrow!!! |
