Hey Everyone,

The DNR came to me wanting our help assess the damage of this summers kill on Lake Rebecca in the west metro. What they want is some angler reports containing the following information:

-How many hours fished
-How many fish caught and seen
-Size of fish caught and seen
-How many fish had their fins clipped

It is very important that the DNR gets a good sampling of anglers to determine how many fish they will need to do a supplemental stocking to keep this brood stock lake going.

You can send me the information or if you're not comfortable with that I can get you the DNR's email address. I'd rather not post it online for obvious reasons.

[email protected]

Thanks!
Shawn Kellett

Typically, permanent fin clips are created by cauderizing the wound with liquid nitrogen. You'll see the missing clip pretty easily. The problem most people have in IDing correct fin clips is what side of the body the clipped fin is on. Make sure your POV is from the fish's perspective (i.e. if looking head on at fish and fin clip is on the right, it is ACTUALLY on the left side because you need to take it from the fish's POV).

Don't worry about fishing Rebecca. I took one if the DNR guys this afternoon and I'm happy to say that there's no shortage of fish in there.
