Has anyone used this for blades? Seems like it would get the job done in a smaller package. Any insight appreciated. BR

Never used a 10a, but I have a 16n A that I use for pounders and large swimbaits. So far with two years of heavy use I have nothing but praise for it, and must say the Trinidad line of reels are absolute winches. The non level wind feature a has bit of a learning curve but if the line is kept tight it packs just fine. IMHO I would opt for a tranx considering there in the same price range and the added level wind, unles of coarse u found a Trinidad for a deal

Thanks, more of a size issue. I would rather compromise with no level wind and smaller reel than a tranx at twice the size. Going to try and see them both though. Thanks!

Size ratio between the two is quite dramatic and overlooked by many. Like I said I love my Trinidad and it's a tank

I use a 14 Trinidad and love it and had 16's int he past. I think with the 10 you would run into a line capcity issue that would negate its value. Essentially with its limited line capacity when casted it will empty quite bit of the spool and the line brought in each turn will be much smaller than adverstised with a "full spool"

Spool size is about the same as a Revo Toro 50 and slightly bigger than a Curado and Calcutta 300D.  Not sure if you would want to slightly under spool it though due to lack of a levelwind.

I see your point though, and I would take a look at the Trinidad 12a if you want a micro reel to pull big baits fast.  Only .3 oz heavier than the 10a but with plenty of line capacity and still relatively small.
