Posts: 2361 | Is there a full report someplace that gives the lakes they were fishing, or the methods? Just curious.

Posts: 32955 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Thet Hodag is on several lake groups. Pelican, Lake George, Thompson, Moen Chain, Boom, and Crescent are the ones I remember. Plastics were getting bit, as were Weagles, hair, and other standards out there.

Posts: 686 Location: Tomahawk, Wisconsin | This is a great tournament even if you catch no fishes as was the case this year:( The bite on the Moens was tough this year for us although I did get to see the fifth place and seventh place teams boat 3 out of their 4 fish. The fish on Moens were moving on mainly hair and I did see a 40 caught on a swimbait, very odd non existent topwater bite. Congrats to all and see you next year at da Hodag!!

Posts: 1916 Location: Greenfield, WI | I believe that the top three places all came off Crescent Lake. 12 or 13 fish were caught on Crescent. Yesterday morning, Darrell Mack netted my 38.75" on a giant Doghouse Buck Spinnerbait, and later in the day we watched the second place team's 47.75" caught right in front of us! With 40 minutes to go today, I get a strike on a monster Phantom Deep Diver and hope that it will be atleast 34"......It was a real nice bass! With 5 minutes to go, Darrel gets a strike, gives it a "cross its eyes hook set". We were already thinking "podium time"!......It was a stinking northern!......Should have been...could have been.... Congratulations to all the winners. It was a great time as always! Just think, only 363 days until Da' HoDag! Edited by Steve Van Lieshout 9/23/2007 8:40 PM

Posts: 256 Location: Janesville | The fish we caught to take frist place were caught where we found green thick weeds. We were ripping the rubber Dubber through them. I wished we could of stayed fishing on Saturday .We were done with our 2 fish by noon . I think if we could of stayed out fishing we would of caught more Muskies. It was a great weekend. It is a well run tourny . Jerry and I will be back again next year. Matt McCumber

Posts: 714 Location: Rhinelander, WI | Going completely off the top of my head, I will try and get the actually numbers from the Chamber. Got some numbers from the chamber so modified below: 46 fish caught total. 35 on Saturday and 11 on Sunday. 21 fish came from Crescent, Oneida Hancock. Average size 39.57, don’t know number of boats 30 to 40 guess. 5 fish came from Boom Lake. Average size 36.75, 55 boats total 5 fish came from Julia, George and Tompson. Average size 36.85, Don’t know number of boats 30 to 40 guess. 3 fish came from Pelican. Average size 40, 21 boats total. 12 fish from the Mones Chain. Average size, 37.44, don’t know number of boats 30 to 40 guess. Most of the fish from the Crescent group came from Crescent, (12 fish) that lake group had 6 of the top 10 places. Almost everyone we talked to who caught fish said they came out of shallow healthy weeds, or near those healthy weed edges. I had a great time and am looking forward to next year. Nail a Pig!
