What would you pro's recommend for a transducer angle for a bow mount? Back one has a 20 ( Garmin ). I appologize if this has been rehashed ain and again.

Mounting your transducer on your trolling motor, you don't need to place it at an angle. You can have the transducer horizontal. It actually reads flush off the bottom of the transducer.

I believe he's referring to the cone angle. You should be fine with a 20-21 degree. This cone angle basically shows a 3" cone for every foot of depth. 20' of water, you'll see a 60" diameter view of the bottom.

I wondered if a w-i-d-e-r cone might help out when fishing newer waters. Say, a bank of shallow water and weeds coming up that the sonar would paint before my eyes would see it coming. Thanks.

60 degree angle will definetly show you more. Its great for shallow water. But in deep water it will lose effectiveness. Both lowrance and humminbird make dual beam transducers that allow you to do a split screen of 20 and 60. That's the best of both worlds.
