I am posting this for a good friend of mine.

Somewhere between Cornell, WI and Minong, WI a Lakewoods tacklebox full of lures either bounced or blew out of his boat. The box can belonged to his 10 year old son and can be identified by the lures inside and also his sons name is embriodered on the box.

On the off chance someone has found it.........Please call Chuck at Cornell Car Quest 1-715-239-6093

Do you know which way they went home from Cornell? I live about 15 miles from Cornell. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

I would assume they took 64 from Cornell to 53 North. I will confirm this as soon as I can reach them.

That's what I was guessing. If I take a trip to Lake Holcombe any time soon I'll keep an eye on the ditches.

Fred

I sure hope someone finds this box, when I lost my son's first rod/reel combo in Hayward someone happily returned it. If the box is not found get a list of lure he lost I would glad to help him replace some of the baits, heck half the baits I own do not see the water.

Good luck

Send me a PM with the young mans name and address and I'll send some gliders to him.

I'll throw a couple in if he doesn't get his box back. Post his info and I'm sure he will restock a new box. Like most guys here I have new baits just sitting around that I may never throw. WHAT AN ADDICTION !!! But I love it.

Your generosity blows me away.

I say we should give it until sometime next week before any of you send this young man any baits. The ditches along the route he traveled have been searched with no results but it is still possible that someone on their way to vacation found the box and has no way to determine the owner until they get back.

If by mid next week nothing shows up I will PM you the young mans address. He may be young but he lives for fishing and uses everything from topwater to jerkbaits, he already has a 48”er to his credit............... and with a name like his (Cortland) .............he was destined to become a muskie fisherman.

Well nearly 2 weeks has passed since Cortland Spletter’s tacklebox flew out of the boat somewhere in western WI. The roadways they used have been traveled in hopes the box would be found but no luck. The Sheriff’s departments for each county involved were contacted as well as the State Patrol and Co. Hwy departments. Nothing has turned up.

Those of you who offered to help have been PM'd information on where to send a bait of two if you wish.

Any one else who would like to help can contact Cortland's dad Chuck. His work number is listed in the first post of this thread.

Thanks,
Fred J
