Back in 1993 we had flood conditions on our local chain of lakes of 3500-5000 acres, resulting in no-wake rules for the majority of the summer and fall. It just took longer to change spots, and it made you fish more and run less, not a bad thing. Good Luck

actually here in the twin cities we have lakes that are "electric motor only"
that means that you cant use your gas motor,,,,there have been major bass tourneys held there with top local pros

The Hooser Muskie Hunters host a three day tournament every year on 3 lakes...you rotate between lakes each day. One of those lakes 3 years ago was no wake. Anglers just need to make sure they abide by this or it gives the tournament a bad reputation.

It will be interesting to say the least. The Madison Chain has a 45" size limit. I hope they have made arrangements for extra judge boats as they will need it. About a couple of yrs ago it was held on the Chain and there was all kinds of fish caught. Winning team had something like 5 fish. Many teams had 2 & 3 fish to their credit. It will keep a judge boat real busy, if the conditions are like they were then.

Now if I could only find a ride to the awards............

I heard that they were looking for an additional 10 judge boats in case the No Wake was still in effect. I'm sure they will have it done professionally and safe for the fish too.

A 500-foot Slow No Wake Zone will remain in effect on Lake Monona (except Squaw Bay, the entire Bay will remain Slow No Wake) and Lake Waubesa. All restrictions are lifted for Lakes Kegonsa and Lake Mendota. There is a permanent 200' Slow No Wake Zone on all lakes on the Yahara Chain of Lakes.

The Order is enforced by the Dane County Sheriff's Department and will remain in place until further notice. Boaters should use caution during these conditions due floating debris located well-off shore. If you become aware of floating debris please contact the Dane County Sheriffs Marine and Trails Bureau at (608) 284-6878 or Dane County Parks at (608) 246-3896.
